Bras for a Cure 2014 Contest!

pink ribbon flowersOctober has arrived, and along with it the campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer. Those who have been affected by this disease testify to its far-reaching affects – affects that have the potential to devastate them in body and mind, but also those who they love – who not only watch them suffer, but suffer along with them. This is why breast cancer awareness is so important, and why we work so hard to raise awareness. Bras for a Cure Eugene

No doubt, breast cancer is a serious issue. But there’s something healing and uplifting about finding a way to approach life, and the hardships it throws our way with humor! It enables us to look at this difficult issue and feel like maybe we can make a difference. Maybe we can affect change…because the truth is that we most definitely can! bra decorating contest

Then when voting begins, you get your friends and family to vote, which will only cost them $1.00 a vote. There’ll be fun, friendly competition, awareness-raising conversation, and most importantly – funds raised to helping cancer patients eugene oregonhelp the individuals affected by breast cancer right here in Lane county, because all the money we raise from Bras for a Cure goes to the Oregon Cancer Foundation (formerly the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute Foundation) and is used locally.

Northwest Community Credit Union Event

Recently Northwest Community Credit Union celebrated their 65th anniversary and wanted floral decorations that reflected how they began. In 1949 6 co-workers at Weyerhaeuser put $50 in a lunchbox with the intention of helping each other out. That year, Weyerhaeuser Springfield Credit Union made its first loan and soon became Northwest Community Credit Union.

The centerpieces for their celebration incorporated both the lunchbox theme and their roots working in the lumber industry.
