Mother-Daughter “May Day” Class

Come join us for a particularly fun class to celebrate May Day. Traditionally, flowers are left anonymously at doorsteps of neighbors by children on May 1. During the class both mom and daughter (or son…or friend) each make a May Day bouquet to be left on doorsteps the following day. Children as young as 5 are welcome to join their parent but we ask that only 1 child attend per parent. Class cost includes all supplies and materials to make 2 bouquets and materials for additional bouquets can be purchased for an additional $10 per bouquet.

  • When: Monday, April 30       6:30-8:30pm
  • Where: Dandelions Flowers 1710 Chambers St.
  • Cost: $35 per mother-daughter pair
  • Class Size Limit: 8 pairs

Easter Flower Inspiration

Easter really marks the beginning of spring for those of us here in Oregon where the sun has barely shown for the last few months. These flower arrangements are perfect for lifting spirits or decorating the family table for Easter dinner. It’s a great time to take advantage of spring blossoms like anemones, ranunculus and hyacinth that go off-season soon.

Dr. Seuss Birthday Party

My daughter, Shiloh, just turned 2 and we had a Cat in the Hat themed birthday party for her. She loves the Cat in the Hat and sings the theme song constantly. In addition to Cat in the Hat cutouts I made striped marshmellow pops, polka dot cookies and Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes.

For the flowers I mixed my Dr. Seuss themes a bit and had flowers that reminded me of Truffula trees from the Lorax. Shiloh had a blast and that made the party so much fun. We ordered a toddler-sized hat for Shiloh and party favor boxes from Birthday Express. It was fun to plan and even more fun to celebrate. Hope you’re inspired!
