Make it for Mom 2014

It’s quickly approaching that time year when we celebrate the wonderful women in our lives we call “Mom.” Every year, the Saturday morning before Mother’s Day, we open our store to as many children who will come and help them create their very own personal mini-floral arrangements to present to Mom the next morning.

This year, the 18th year of this annual event, Make it for Mom will be Saturday, May 10th from 10:30am to noon. The kids will have a marvelous time making arrangements with a personal touch that only they can add; the adults will receive a $5.00 in-store coupon to go towards any purchases they make that day; and any donations we receive will go 100% to the Relief Nursery.

Eugene’s Favorite Mom 2014

Mothers are extraordinary. They’re not super heroes with an abundance of super-human abilities, but they could fool us. Because we’re around them all the time, it’s easy to take them – and their seeming super-powers – for granted.

The truth is we know how human they are, but these ordinary, every-day women find it within themselves to love, give and sacrifice in ways that can astound us.

Mother’s Day is a great opportunity to thank our moms and show them that we recognize how special they are and appreciate all they do for us. And to make this year’s occasion even more unforgettable, you can put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and enter your super-Mom into the 4th annual Eugene’s Favorite Mom contest. All you have to do is tell us about your mom (or the mother figure in your life) and what makes her amazing.

The entry deadline is Wednesday, May 7th.

The Grand Prize winner will be awarded by Sunday, May 11th, and wins the following:

Make It For Mom- FREE flower designing for kids

Each year for Mother’s Day weekend we set up the store for kids to come and design their own little bouquet for mom! It is the sweetest thing seeing all these children using their creativity and so excited and proud of what they have made for their mom for Mother’s Day. The event is free but we do accept donations that are given to the Relief Nursery. Dads or grandparents can shop with a $5 in-store coupon while supplies last.

Dandelions Flowers in Eugene, OR is hosting the 15th Annual “Make It For MOM”- FREE flower arranging for kids! Bring  in your little ones (or anyone under 18) and we’ll give them a helping hand in making their very own flower arrangement for mom. Mom’s love hand-made gifts and mom’s love flowers- it’s a win-win!

And Dads… we’ll hook you up with a $5 coupon that you can use while your child is designing to pick out your own flower gift for mom, too.

Every year “Make It For MOM” collects donation for a different charity and this year we feel the devastation in Japan could use our support. All donation collected during the event will be sent to the American Red Cross efforts in Japan.
