Light Pink Wedding

We often get requests from brides for peonies throughout the year. Unfortunately, peonies have a short growing season locally. The season is extended slightly through farms that grow peonies in Alaska and South America. So for the bride who wants a peony look but can’t afford the $15-$30 a stem price of off-season peonies, garden roses provide an excellent alternative.

This wedding had a very pink theme! The bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets were pink and white and the flower girls carried sweet pink pomanders. Helga Piaget garden roses, Mariatheresa garden spray roses and blush pink ranunculus created a soft pink look. The bridal bouquet was collared with silver dusty miller. and had locket pictures attached to the stem wrap. Very pretty and feminine!

Country Chic Wedding

This was such a fun wedding! Working with the bride, Mindi, was a treat and all of the special touches made the event top notch. Mindi chose the best of the best for her vendors including Essig Entertainment and Moxie Events. Her groom, Nick, was also very involved with the wedding planning which was sweet that it meant so much to him.

The wedding and the reception were held at Smith Oaks Ranch on Lorane Hwy in Eugene. Nick built the ceremony arbor himself and guests were seated on covered straw bales. The reception was in another cleared field area and the rectangular tables were a fresh alternative to the traditional rounds. The burlap table runners were hand-made as well as the burlap “Just Married” banner. We added simple milkglass budvases to each table, wine barrels and buffet tables. The overall look of the centerpieces was cohesive but each table had a different combination of flowers.

For Mindi’s bridal bouquet in shades of yellow and white I used “Alexandra” roses, “Butterscotch” roses, freesia, yellow-green cockscomb, hydrangea, stock, “Helga Piaget” garden roses and “Moonstruck” spray roses. Lots of jewels were added for plenty of sparkle.

These pictures were taken by Dandelions but if you want to see more of the wedding, check out Erika Nicole who photographed the event.

Prom Corsage Trends 2012

Animal Print

Whether you want to coordinate your corsage with the theme of your dress or just add animal print with your corsage, this trend still big this year.

Rhinestones & Bling

Crystals, diamonds, rhinestones and bling never go out of style. Add some serious glitz to your prom fashion with sparkling corsage wristbands, glitter jewels or rhinestone sprays.

Polka Dot

Natalie Portman rocked the polka dot look at the 2012 Oscars and shows this look can be both fun and classy.

Feathers

Add an exotic flair to your ensemble with feathers- peacock, ostrich or glitter. Feathers add either a gothic or adventurous look to any corsage or boutonniere.

Armbands leave your hands free for dancing or eating, rings are perfect for a simple floral accessory and the wire wristlets are a much more modern take on corsages.

A corsage technically refers to the bodice of a dress where, during the 19th century, flowers were worn. Today a corsage is more typically seen worn on the wrist or pinned onto a jacket.
