“Shannon is a mother of three children: George, Elizabeth and an 18 month old miracle son, Christopher. Christopher was born on Nov. 30, 2009 with serious heart complications. Approximately 2 months after his birth, he received a heart transplant at the Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. After six months of recovery in Arkansas, he returned to Portland last August. He was finally able to move home (to Springfield) in October. Since that time, Christopher has been slowly growing and progressing despite weak kidneys which require him to be on dialysis for 12 hours a day. The family hopes to begin the kidney transplant process in the next few months.
Shannon is on e of the bravest women I have ever known. She has been by her “little bear’s” side since his birth and has faithfully cared for his physical needs and prayed for his healing. She continues to be there for her two older children and even while they were apart, she was connected to them and aware of all of the details and accomplishments in their deaily lives. The expanse of her love for all three of her children and her husband is immeasuarble. When life, work, familyand daily stresses start to get the better of me, I only need to think of Shannon to put the power of motherhood into perspective and to know that there is no one else in my life who has demonstrated such steadfast patience, strength and unwavering faith in her childreen and their purpose in life. She deserves nothing more than hours and hours of pampering and recognition and I hope you will sincerely consider her for this package.
