Country Chic Wedding

This was such a fun wedding! Working with the bride, Mindi, was a treat and all of the special touches made the event top notch. Mindi chose the best of the best for her vendors including Essig Entertainment and Moxie Events. Her groom, Nick, was also very involved with the wedding planning which was sweet that it meant so much to him.

The wedding and the reception were held at Smith Oaks Ranch on Lorane Hwy in Eugene. Nick built the ceremony arbor himself and guests were seated on covered straw bales. The reception was in another cleared field area and the rectangular tables were a fresh alternative to the traditional rounds. The burlap table runners were hand-made as well as the burlap “Just Married” banner. We added simple milkglass budvases to each table, wine barrels and buffet tables. The overall look of the centerpieces was cohesive but each table had a different combination of flowers.

For Mindi’s bridal bouquet in shades of yellow and white I used “Alexandra” roses, “Butterscotch” roses, freesia, yellow-green cockscomb, hydrangea, stock, “Helga Piaget” garden roses and “Moonstruck” spray roses. Lots of jewels were added for plenty of sparkle.

These pictures were taken by Dandelions but if you want to see more of the wedding, check out Erika Nicole who photographed the event.

Pretty Pink Wedding

One of our sweet sales clerks, Sophie, got married to her beau, Todd, this August and the flowers were a perfect reflection of Sophie’s sweet, bubbly personality. They were married at a local church and then the reception was held at Sophie’s parent’s rural country home. Since Sophie is definitely a girlie-girl there were lots of pink touches and plenty of tulle!

Wedding consultant, Julianne, worked with Sophie to turn her fantasy wedding into reality. We ordered in a variety of rose that is actually called “Sophie”… HOW PERFECT! She also used nerine lilies, hydrangea, roses, freesia, cymbidium orchid blossoms and green “Athos” poms. The bridal bouquet was made even more stunning by adding bead details to loops of lily grass. This was reflected in the groom’s boutonniere as well.

Sophie did the reception centerpieces herself using birch branches, the green poms and lighted branches that really showed up once the sun went down. We are so happy for Sophie and Todd and were glad to help one of our own make her dream day come true!

An orange and pink bridal bouquet for a “Hawaiian” theme wedding

Although it was a Hawaiian themed wedding, the bride wanted more traditional flowers so we brought in white freesia that were reminiscent of plumeria

These unique tan and pink orchids brought a touch of tropical

The starting bouquet created in shades of green including hydrangea, green trick carnations, sedum, rosemary, poppy pods, green chrysanthemums, ti leaves and a moss orb.

The light green Mega Beaded wire intertwined in this bouquet added a touch of modernity for the bride who likes a little something different

Adding in more natural elements like the curly willow, eucalyptus pods and seed pods turned the green bouquet into a natural and earthy statement.

Three shades of carnations combined to make this bridesmaid’s bouquet. Grouping the colors together keeps it from looking like polka-dots

A great way to differentiate a bridal or maid of honor bouquet is to add a touch of glam with jewels or crystals

I love this Diamond Wrap that can be used on a stem wrap, around vases or applied to corsages & boutonnieres

Adding interesting foliage keeps these hydrangeas from looking to rounded for this bride who wanted a looser, more natural feel

Rager-Pappel Wedding: July 30, 2011

Since Matt from Matt Emrich Photography provided us with all of these beautiful pictures from the Rager-Pappel wedding I decided to make it its own post! Chelsea and Jim are such a fun couple and Matt did an amazing job of capturing their personalities and spirit on their wedding day!

Chelsea worked her entire wedding around the polka dot theme she fell in love with. We used black/white polka dot ribbon for the stem wrap for all of the bouquets as well as the corsages & mini gerb boutonnieres.  Her invitations featured hot pink gerbera daisies and we carried those throughout the entire wedding decoration.

The bridal bouquet was made of white Polar Star roses, Stargazer Lilies, and 3 shades of gerbera daisies. Chelsea wanted it “huge”…so we made it big. The bridesmaids carried bouquets made of different shades of pink gerbera daisies.

Here is Jim with his pink mini gerb boutonniere. I added black beaded wire to tie in with the polka dot theme. (The guys even wore hot pink shoe laces and the bridesmaids had polka dot shoe laces!!) Even the 2 dogs had flower collars!

Originally Chelsea planned on DIY reception centerpieces but the wind proved to be a bit of a challenge so I added the 3 tones of pink gerbera daisies to the clear rectangular vases with clear stones. These were put on mirrored tiles which enlarges the look of the centerpiece. The head table also held tiered vases with pink gerbs.

Another last minute addition was a few stems of flowers on the gazebo where the ceremony took place. It added a bit of color to the all-white gazebo.

We placed tall glass cylinders in the reception with pink and white arrangements that “floated” on top.

Eugene Weddings: July 27-31

Another week was packed with weddings! We had a total of 5 weddings over the course of the week including a ceremony on both Wednesday and Friday and each wedding had its own, unique look. I made 2 trips out to the gorgeous Whisper N Oaks outside of Junction City where I was very impressed with the grounds. I had never been out there before and it far exceeded my expectations! Here are some shots from last weeks weddings…

Fall Bridal Bouquets

If you’re planning a fall wedding the season is quickly approaching. The colors in autumn are so gorgeous and September/October weddings here in Oregon tend to be fantastic. Yes, the weather in October is a bit dicey…but the leaves!! So pretty. Here are some ideas and inspiration for wedding bouquets if you are exchanging vows this fall.

A beautiful mix of tropical flowers with dahlias and sunflowers

Sunflowers are available in both standard and minis- combine both sizes for more interest

Shades of orange gerbera daisies, carnations, roses and alstromeria

Fiery orange tones are quite stunning against the champagne and ivory dresses

The miniature calla lilies are used to create the in-out look for more interest and texture

Weddings: July 9, 2011

This last weekend was FULL of weddings here in Eugene. We worked on the flowers for 4 weddings for Saturday, July 9. Congratulations to all of our couples who said “I do”. The colors and the flower choices were as varied as the couples but all were beautiful and fun to work on.

Miranda Dellinger

This wedding was full of strong colors including red and orange for the ceremony in Elmira, OR.  The bridal bouquet incorporated dahlias, gerbera daisies, roses and alstromeria. There was also a beautiful arbor arrangement that Roseann created.

Rebecca Jensen

Rebecca loved the two tones of roses that created more texture in her wedding bouquet that also included pure white gerbera daisies. The bridesmaids carried a smaller version of the same bouquet.

Lexi Terry

Marie whipped up this beautiful bouquet for a last-minute bride who chose blue iris, white gerbera daisies (do you notice a theme for this weekends’ brides??) and other white flowers.

Leah Yeager

Leah wanted only gerbera daisies for her country wedding at Deep Woods Events in Elmira, Oregon. All of the corsages and boutonnieres were made with miniature gerbera daisies and the girls carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet which was solid gerbs.

Prince Wedding

This last weekend Kelly Boseke married Charles Prince in beautiful Vida, Oregon. Summer finally showed its face and gave gorgeous weather to this sweet couple. Kelly was wonderful to work with and her bright color choice definitely reflects her sweet and vivacious personality.

"Circus" Rose Bridal Bouquet

Kelly choice Circus roses for her main flower. Her wedding bouquet is strictly Circus roses and was a statement on its own. Corsages & boutonnieres were made with both orange roses and orange mini gerbera daisies.  Her daughters (18 years old & 9 years old) wore more modern wrist corsages with wire bracelets.

JK Photography from Salem, Oregon posted some teaser photos and they captured the new couple beautifully. Check out their photos here…

Stutler Wedding

These wedding flowers for Alison Stutler’s wedding this past weekend were country-chic and I was very happy with how they turned out for my bride. They were going for an earthy-country feel… How’d I do??

Congratulations to the bride and groom!! Already prepping for the next set of weddings this weekend…

Kate Middleton’s Bridal Bouquet

All eyes were on the Royal Wedding at the end of April and two of the biggest questions surrounding the big day were 1). What will Kate’s dress look like and 2). What will her bridal bouquet look like?

Image used under Creative Commons from jennicatpink

Kate looked classic and elegant in her modern take on a classic dress and chose a simple, chic bouquet made of lily of the valley, sweet william, hyacinth and myrtle ( a royal tradition). In stark contrast to Princess Diana’s bouquet, Kate’s bouquet was a small clutch instead of a cascade.

Lily of the valley is a short-stemmed flower with small bell-like blossoms. Although many bride’s desire it for their bouquets, it is a flower that poses some obstacles. In addition to being sensitive to heat (it’s a spring blossom), lily of the valley can be expensive.

So…if you’re not a princess-to-be but want Kate’s look on a commoner’s budget here are some ideas…
